Frank Smith Road Bridge Design/Build

In 1998, The Castle Group completed the design and construction for a bridge replacement in Salem County. Several site visits were performed to verify site conditions and determine the best design for the project. W.J. Castle, P.E. & Associates, P.C., was responsible for all engineering, from preliminary design to final design. The timeline of the construction was a key concern because this bridge was the only access to a housing development. The 24’-0” timber bridge was pre-fabricated into two modules and shipped to the site ready for installation.
Hydro-Marine Construction Co., Inc. was responsible for the construction and construction management from the start to finish. The bridge was built in accordance with all AASHTO and NJDOT standards. Construction of the bridge was completed in one week .
Our bridge design won the “Best Small Bridge” award by the New Jersey Quality Initiative.
