In 2011 Hydro-Marine Construction Co., Inc. completed the foundation stabilization for the First Presbyterian Church located in Mount Holly, New Jersey. Cracking and settlement in the steeple of the church indicated the settlement of the foundation wall. The wall was excavated as required and new “Chance” helical piles were installed below the foundation wall to provide additional support and prevent further settlement or movement. Since the soil borings indicated that the water table was only 6 feet below the basement floor, the helical anchors were the most viable solution. Due to the construction of the wall and stone foundation and location of the water table, additional precautions were required to safely complete the job. All areas disturbed by the construction were repaired prior to leaving the site.
